Terms and data protection

AEY Vision Retail is a product of AEY Vision Ltd. By using it you agree to these terms. Email retail@aeyvision.com with any question.

Who is responsible for the footage

Your CCTV shows your customers and staff, so it is personal data. You are the controller of the footage you upload, and we process it only to analyse it on your instructions, as your processor. The analysis runs on AEY Cloud, our own processing platform, in the UK and the EU.

What the analysis does and doesn’t do

Before you start: your obligations

Using CCTV for footfall analytics and loss prevention is a purpose you need to cover. Before uploading footage, update your CCTV data protection impact assessment and your privacy notice to include it, keep your CCTV signs in place, and tell your staff, whose working day the cameras also see. Your legitimate interests in running and protecting your shop are the usual lawful basis. The Information Commissioner’s Office publishes guidance on video surveillance that covers this.

How long things are kept

Your video is kept until you delete it, from its recording page or by deleting its camera or store. Delete footage as soon as you no longer need to play it back: the figures and reviews are kept without it. Paths, figures, flag crops and reviews are kept until you delete the recording. Deleting an account deletes everything in it.

Accuracy

Counts depend on the camera’s position, the light and how crowded the shop is. Check a sample against the footage before relying on a figure. We don’t guarantee any level of accuracy, and we aren’t liable for decisions made on the figures or the flags.

Plans

Plans are monthly and renew until you cancel. Hours are used for the length of each video analysed, and unused hours don’t roll over. An analysis that fails isn’t charged.
